I made two little crayon rolls today for a swap I'm involved in on Craftster. These were super cheap to make. I used fabric and ribbon from my stash. The crayons were on sale for 20 cents, and the felt was 12 cents. So it cost me just 32 cents for both crayon rolls! I think they are pretty cute, and hope the kids they are for like them as well.

I'm making AJ a small quilt for school. His supply list calls for a "small blanket" for naptime, so I decided that it must be homemade.

AJ loves space stuff, so that's the theme of his quilt. It's nothing fancy or difficult, but he loves it so far.

I finished the quilt top this afternoon. It will be bordered in blue fabric with stars, and the backing is a lightweight flannel with planets and aliens on it (will have a closeup of that fabric later). I have just over a week to complete it, but am hoping to have it done by this weekend. We'll see.

For now, here's the top. The colors in this picture aren't true. The orange isn't so pink in real life, and the light color is off-white with white stars.

I was so excited last night to find a bag of tulle at the thrift store for just $1.99. It had both purple and pink tulle in it (about a yard and a half each), and it was uncut. Megan has been in desperate need of a little dress-up tutu, so I knew this was perfect.

Very little sewing was involved. The tulle was just tied onto a piece of elastic, and then I sewed the ends of the elastic together.

It was time for something cute and easy. This took about 30 minutes total, and turned out pretty cute I think.

They are done.

I seriously can't wait to sew something cute. Goodness. Culottes are ugly!

Just because I KNOW ya'll are wondering how the culottes are going (all one of you)...

I'm making culottes. LOTS of culottes. I have four pairs done, and about 16 more to do (no, I'm not kidding). These first four were made using a Burda pattern. I adore the pattern, and wish that I could make all of them using this exact pattern. However, most of the girls are way too small for it. So I'm going to be making my own pattern for the rest (stay tuned to hear more about that adventure!).

I just finished Megan's patriotic dress. Our church is having "I love my country" day on Sunday, so she will wear it then. The dress is fully lined with the blue fabric, which has a bit of sparkle to it. The red fabric has blue stars on it. The bloomers are kind of hard to see in the pictures, but have a little ruffle at the bottom and a bit of red trim as well. They stick out a little under the dress, but it's hard to tell from the angle of the pictures.
