I like the unadulterated sunrise over the mountains. I get to see it most workdays and it's just the most beautiful natural thing.

I like my children's laughter. It's one of those pleasures that I cannot get enough of...

I like milk. There is no pretentious subculture and it doesn't smell terrible morning or night (unless you left it out from yesterday morning). But I also like most non-pretentious drinks.

I like the lamp Laura made for me. The lamp shade is covered in love notes from her (most of them to me).

I like my bed. It's big and comfy, and big and comfy.

I like air conditioning. It nullifies any reason to live north of the frost line. And before you say something stupid about "always putting on more clothes," during a 17 year period (1979-1995), a total of 6615 deaths in the United States were attributed to excessive heat exposure. In just 4 years (1999-2002), a total of 4,607 deaths in the United States were hypothermia-related.

I like the word phenomenal. I doubt I really have any clue what it means, but I think it's phenomenal.

I like the smell before it rains in Germany. They always fertilize their farms before the rain, so you get this sweet smell of manure. It's different than the feed lots here in Nebraska. I don't know how to describe it, but after a short while you get used to it and learn to actually like it. (Well, at least I remember that I think I do.)

I like the New American Standard Bible. I don't like it for any dogmatic reason. I just like it.

I like my wife's new hair. She had it done today, and it looks great.

I like my tattoo. It reminds me of where I've come from. It reminds me that it's not about what people think. It reminds me that I'm different.

I guess there's a lot more I like, but I'll stop while I still think I'm ahead.
