Megan's dress took me less than an hour. It was simple, and thankfully I had all the supplies on hand. As I stood oohing and ahhing over my handiwork, I realized I had made a terrible mistake. I had cut up one of the boys shirts. So I was left with a size small kids shirt and a size small adult shirt for the boys. This was not going to work. The adult shirt was BIG, and would look ridiculous on either of the boys.

I cried. I stomped my foot. I called Ray and cried some more. I called my mom and cried some more (mostly because she didn't answer the phone). I called my dad and cried some more. And then I thought to myself, "Laura, you are the handy type. Just cut the bigger shirt down and make it fit AJ!" And that's exactly what I did.

I wish I had a before picture of the adult small. You'll just have to imagine AJ in a shirt that came down past his knees, had sleeves past his elbows, and a collar that fell off of his shoulder. I took it in everywhere...made the collar smaller, took several inches off of the sleeves, and then hemmed them several inches as well. Took in the sides of the shirt, and cut a bunch off the bottom. It turned out pretty good, I think!
